We hold many of the course books in our studio-bookshop so do come down and have a browse.
www.yogamatters.com is also an invaluable resource. Any good bookshop will also order the books for you.
Essential Pre-Course Reading
These are the books you should buy/ borrow and have to hand throughout the course and I hope you will find them useful throughout life!
Please read and be familiar these books thoroughly before starting your course. You will need knowledge of them for groups discussion, presentation and coursework.
1. *The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali by Swami Satchidananda
2. *The Bhagavad Gita by Eknath Easwaren (or by Juan Mascaro)
3. The Heart of Yoga: Developing a Personal Practice by TKV Desikachar
4. *The Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Swami Muktibodhananda- useful to read all or at least a review of this text.
Plus at least one good anatomy book e.g.
1. Trail Guide to the Body by Andrew Biel
2. Yoga Anatomy Leslie Kaminoff
3. Anatomy of Movement, Blandine Calais-Germain
4. The Key Poses of Hatha Yoga, Ray Long
And at least one of:
1. Asana, Pranayama, Mudra, Bandha by Bihar School of Yoga
2. Light on Yoga by BKS Iyengar

A good "Breath" book: detailed description of breath e.g. in

Further Recommended Reading/ Viewing You will need some further texts/ resources to supplement your study in order to bring your written work to the required level. These may be taken from a tradition of yoga you are particularly interested in. Examples include:
The Yoga Tradition, by George Feuerstein-
(This book is the be all and end all of up to date yoga theory and history. It has more detail than you will need at 200 hours, but is an invaluable life resource. This book will cover all the additional topics you need to be familiar with in some detail.)
