Experienced Group

We will meet for guided meditation and discussion. This group is open to those who have a foundation in the practice of meditation.

I
ntroduction to Meditation
This six week, Sunday morning class will guide you through several aspects of meditation, incorporating elements of theory, philosophy, discussion and practice.

The 90 minute sessions will focus on a different aspect of meditation each week, from the mechanics of the mind and the physiology of the practice, to the philosophy behind meditation. There will be room for discussion and feedback about your experiences.

We will look at different meditation techniques and you will have the chance to try various types so that you can find the method that is best for you. During these sessions you will be fully supported in all of these experiences and have the opportunity to develop your own personal sitting practice.


Course outline:

Week one: Cultivating Mindfulness

Week two: The mechanics of meditation – an exploration into the human psycho-physical structure

Week three: Philosophy and myth relating to meditation practice

Week four: The chakras

Week five: Mindfulness revisited

Week six: Closing practice
